    About the Book

    Edit

December 1989, Romania, Bucharest: the more time passes, the more nobody understands what it was.
Ceaușescu, who ruled Romania, was assassinated, but the Communists and the Securitate remained in power - and did their best to stay at the helm, killing any hope of change in Romania from the start. In short, this is the story of those days, and these are a few pictures in a much larger mosaic that is sure to fade in time and in the mists of oblivion.
Instead of Romania becoming a great country, it has become the place from which 8 million souls have left over the last 30 years to places where they can live.
1989, instead of being a year of hope and tremendous change, became the year we lost the hope.
