    About the Book

    Edit

For fourteen years Neville and Catherine recorded Dream Time's world voyage on the pages of zeroXTE—a website that chronicled and shared their globetrotting on a small sailboat—from the raw emotion and physical challenges of their longest passages; to finding a sun-drenched paradise on a remote uninhabited island in the middle of the South Pacific, an island that would be their home for a remarkable 228 days; to the challenges of navigating storms, cyclones, unfamiliar cultures and labyrinths of uncharted reefs; and, of course, to all the spectacular mistakes they made along the way.

These voyage entries have not been edited or embellished—they are the actual blogs, or logbook entries, made during Dream Time’s voyage where, for 452 pages, Neville and Catherine share their emotions and experiences, in the moment, as though you are actually with them.

So whether you are a sailor, a traveler, or simply curious to learn what it is really like to live, work, play and explore the world on a thirty-eight-foot sailboat, for over fifty thousand nautical miles, this book will take you on that journey.

    Neville and Catherine Hockley
    New York

Neville was born in Southampton, England and has lived most of his life by the sea. Neville studied graphic arts and advertising, holding degrees from both Parsons School of Design in New York City and Portsmouth College of Art and Design. In 1997 Neville founded i&D, an international Davey award-winning advertising and design studio in New York. Catherine was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland and after working as a nanny in England and Europe, came to the United States to work as a nanny for a Hollywood movie star, a position requiring her to have a concealed weapons license and to carry a firearm. After moving to New York Catherine took real estate courses at NYU and worked in corporate real estate for Bertelsmann Inc. and Random House. Neville and Catherine set sail from New York on Dream Time and sailed a remarkable 50,242 nautical miles, across all four hemispheres, for fourteen years. This book captures some of their most memorable experiences.
