I arrived in Istanbul, and this city is so romantic. There is something almost ephemeral about the way the city reveals itself. One moment, I was walking through an ancient street, surrounded by centuries of history, and the next, I was sitting in a café, watching ordinary life unfold around me. Paradoxically, so much of Istanbul feels perennial. It remains anchored to everything that came before it. Istanbul has such a rich history, from the Roman and Byzantine eras to the Ottoman Empire.
