Randy Wells was so inspired by John Steinbeck's 1962 book Travels With Charley: In Search of America that he felt compelled to document his own journey across America at the end of the 20th Century.

Over an eight year period, from 1992-1999, he traveled in a VW van along Steinbeck's route while photographing the entire project on analog Fujichrome transparency slide film.

Randy is fortunate to have had his work published more than 20,000 times worldwide, appearing in hundreds of magazines, including National Geographic. Outdoor Photographer, Sunset, and NG Traveler magazine are just some of the covers his work has been featured on.

Randy has been voted one of the top 10 best photographers in the Pacific Northwest and one of the top 5 best automotive photographers in Seattle. His unique style of photography has won multiple awards, including American Photo, AR100, Communication Arts.
